BMKG Reports Magnitude 5 Earthquake Hit Aceh Jaya

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that a magnitude 5.0 earthquake shook Aceh and the areas in its vicinity on Thursday, April 18, at around 04:16 Western Indonesia Time (WIB).
Fortunately, BMKG said that no tsunami warnings were triggered by the earthquake.

The agency confirmed that the quake originated from 346 kilometers Southwest of Calang, Aceh Jaya, at the coordinate 3.25 degree north latitude and 92.79 east longitude, from the depth of 10 kilometers.
No further reports emerged on the damages sustained by building structures in the area nor have there been any reports on human casualties because of the earthquake.
